METAK joins the Baku Marathon 2019

On May 5, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation organised and held the Baku Marathon-2019 in Baku.

Held under the slogan ‘Beat the Wind!’, the marathon aims to support the development of sport in Azerbaijan, promote a healthy lifestyle and unite people around good deeds.

This time the competition united 22320 registrants, including state, public and political figures, prominent celebrities, as well as foreign guests. Representatives of various organisations and companies registered for the event as corporate participants.

Always known for its high team spirit, METAK also joined the Baku Marathon 2019, with 31 employees of the company who decided to beat the wind too. 22 members of our team were among the first thousand runners who crossed the finish line. The personal record of the METAK team, which joined the competition under the motto ‘Run for METAK!’ was 1 hour 42 minutes and 12 seconds.

It was the fourth annual ‘Beat the Wind!’ marathon, which started from the National Flag Square, with the finish line marked 21 km away at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
